![]() ![]() ![]() Having sabnzbd+ autostart and listen for sickbeard or couchpotato will make it so we can be that much lazier. Now we need to do a few more things so that we don’t have to manually start sabnzbd+ whenever the server needs to be rebooted. Meaning that unless you change it, it will always download at the “Normal” priority level that is set in the Default category. Priority will always default to the “Default” category unless you change it for a specific category. As it’s picked the NZB up in a sub folder, it knows which category. SAB will scan the watch folder and pick up theNZBs. Then save your NZB in the relevant Sub-folder. Create a watch folder and create sub folders that match your categories. This can be done in SAB itself in the Queue, or in the watch folder. If you manually download NZBs then you need to tell SAB what category it is. If you download the NZBs automatically using an index sites API/RSS feed then the categories should match the index site. NOTE: The nzb doesn’t contain any category information. This sometimes takes a little trial and error. Set up whatever categories you’re going to be using. If you wanted to be more specific, you could create another line that was “TV Shows*HD”. This is because you have a wildcard listed. Ie: If you had a tv show pulled from NZBGeek that was categorized as “TV Shows HD”, with the current setup shown above, SABnzbd would then put that into your tv category. Indexer tags will take the category that your usenet provider has listed their item under, and assign it to the category that you have set. Make sure you have a category set, a folder/path, and groups/indexer tags. This step, while not absolutely necessary, makes it easier to get the latest and greatest version of sabnzbd without waiting for the Ubuntu repos to get updated (which can usually take a while). The best part? It only takes seconds to install, and minutes to set up. These include adding shows to your queue, finding and downloading those shows, choosing the proper quality, and excluding certain keywords from searches. SABnzbd is a free and open source newsgrabber that makes Usenet as simple and streamlined as possible by automating almost all tasks. BONUS: Install and Configure Transmission.Install and Configure SABnzbd+ (You’re here). This is the second part in a series of tutorials to configure your server to automate your media and serve it to your home devices. Part 2: USSSCP - Ubuntu, Samba, Sabnzbd+, Sickbeard, Couchpotato and Plex. ![]()
